There's no better place for this beetle than in front of the Kreissparkasse Nordhausen (Northern Savings Bank). Since 2010, it has stood just a few steps up from the sidewalk, directly to the main entrance. However, it's easy to miss, as it hides from prying eyes with its moneybag in the shadow of a billboard.
The design is a collaborative effort by Marles Gottschalk, Jessica Wacker, and Stefanie Reiber. Naturally, the Nordhausen Savings Bank provided the funding.
There are 24 other stair beetles, one of which is unfortunately missing.
