In the ancient laurel forest of Fanal on Madeira, there's an old, gnarled tree that bears a strong resemblance to a witch. The tree is therefore often used as a photo subject or selfie tree, so it might take quite a while to get the right shot.

The witch's tree in the Laurissilva forest, with its twisted branches and thick moss, looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. Depending on the fog and light, it appears sometimes mystical, sometimes almost a little eerie – a perfect photo spot. Take a moment to let the silence and the special atmosphere of this little forest scene wash over you.
