The forest area of Loccum Monastery (approximately 650 hectares) is located approximately ten kilometers west of Lake Steinhude and comprises six sub-areas (forest sites) of varying sizes. The majority are located in Lower Saxony (Nienburg district), while a smaller portion belongs to North Rhine-Westphalia (Minden-Lübbecke district). The forest largely falls under the category of "historically old forest sites." Alternating forest landscapes and a well-developed, park-like trail system make the monastery forest an experience for every visitor.
