What looks like a small castle, rising on the right bank of the Scheldt at Taverierkaai and the Bonaparte Dock, was actually an administrative and service building. Until 2016, it housed the Pilot Service, the Shipping Inspectorate, and the Fleet and Shipping Administration for the Scheldt. The building was built between 1892 and 1895 with a neo-Gothic façade designed by Henrik Kennes and Ferdinand Truyman.
