Hiking
Monte Altissimo is the symbolic mountain of the Borno plateau, in the Bergamo Prealps. It is a easily recognizable panoramic peak that dominates both the lower Val Camonica and the Val di Scalve.

Slopes:
South: steep, rocky, with a 1500 m elevation gain from the valley floor
North: gentle and wooded, facing Borno (paghér = fir trees)
The contrast between the two slopes is stark: one severe and wild, the other more accessible and rich in summer pastures and huts.
