In 2002, the sandstone building, which is a listed monument, was converted into a civic and cultural center with a hipped roof. It houses the city information (tourist information) and the post office agency of Oberderdingen.

Today, it houses the tourist information office and a wine shop.
Heinfelser Platz, which surrounds the building, was designed in 2001/2002. It is named after Oberderdingen's twin town in East Tyrol.
