    The 750-year-old castle complex, owned by the von Brandenstein-Zeppelin family, is located on a mountain spur above the Schlüchtern district of Elm (Main-Kinzig district). In 1909 the owner Alexander von Brandenstein married Hella Countess von Zeppelin, the only daughter of the legendary Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin. King Wilhelm II of Württemberg made him count and introduced the family name of Brandenstein-Zeppelin.
