He belonged to the ancient and authoritative Bandini family of Siena, related to another great family, the Piccolomini that had given birth to some of the most illustrious Popes of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (Pius II, Pius III and Paul III) .
The monument was made by the sculptor Tito Sarrocchi in the 1800s.
