If you cross the Wiesentbrücke, you have an unobstructed view of the imposing town mill, which is still in operation, with its undershot mill wheel - one of the largest in Franconian Switzerland - right on the meadow weir; at the entrance to the old town of Waischenfeld; owned by the Wehrl family since 1698, rebuilt in its present form in 1949 after a fire the year before;

In the middle of the town of Waischenfeld is the town mill with one of the largest undershot water wheels in Franconian Switzerland. It has been owned by the Wehrl family since 1698. In 1948 the mill burned down to its foundations. It was rebuilt in its current form in 1949. The mill is still in operation, grinding rye and wheat from the region, for the region.
