At this point we find the origins of Saarbrücken, because at the crossroads of the Roman roads Metz-Worms and Trier-Strasbourg a Gallo-Roman settlement developed in the 1st century AD. In the 4th century AD. To protect the important traffic routes, a Roman military camp was built there, which was destroyed in the 5th century.
