This section was the route of the (former) Isar Valley Railway from Wolfratshausen to Bichl until 1978. After this section was closed, the tracks were dismantled and a cycle path was built along this former route, leading gently uphill to Beuerberg. At the beginning of the trail, just after Quarzbichl, you cycle through some very beautiful scenery, sometimes directly along a raised bog – far from the road – before the cycle path continues directly alongside the state road to Beuerberg. Overall, it's a very easy and pleasant section of the trail.
