Hiking

To mark its 60th anniversary in 2016, the demon group of the Ehingen carnival guild "Spritzenmuck" erected a monument to itself. Since then, a stele bearing the Groggadäler's portrait has stood at the Groggensee. Sculptor Rolf Müllner carved the legendary figure's face into a 900-kilogram block of shell limestone with hammer and chisel. The terrifying, crocodile-like figure from the Ehingen carnival is said to have once wreaked havoc on the swampy banks of the Schmiech River.
