This section of the Timberline Trail runs along the eastern side of Mount Hood, gaining elevation to reach a high point of 7,300 feet as it follows the top of Gnarl Ridge. You'll have spectacular views of the mountain, the Coast Range, and the Willamette River. It can be a challenging section of the trail, but the views are well worth the effort.
