In the justification, the building was described as a "pioneering work of modern technology and architecture". The Centennial Hall is a "creative and innovative example of the development of construction technology in large reinforced concrete structures. The interior of the Riesenhalle is even more fascinating. The hall is currently used for trade fairs, sports and cultural events. It has around 6,000 seats, and if standing room is used, it can hold almost 20,000 people. With a diameter of 65 meters, its dome was the largest self-supporting structure in the world at the time.
