The Baumbachtal valley is located in a landscape conservation area called "Baumbachtal between Erligheim and Walheim, Steinbachtal between Löchgau and Besigheim and the surrounding area." The entire LSG covers an area of approximately 340 hectares. It is characterized by historic terraced vineyards with natural stone walls and steps, the meadows of the Baumbachtal valley, and the orchard meadows.
