The only child of John Schiavelli and Katherine Coco, Vincent Schiavelli was born in Brooklyn, New York, into a Sicilian-American family originally from Polizzi Generosa, a village in the province of Palermo perched on the Madonie, also the hometown of part of the family of director Martin Scorsese".
