CLIF / TERMINAL MORAINE
The cliffs on Wolin Island are the most interesting element of its landscape. They are the edge of moraine hills, created 12 thousand years ago by the retreating ice sheet. The highest cliff in Poland is Gosań Mountain (93.4 m above sea level) on Wolin, built of clay, sandy formations, as well as a significant number of boulders that came with the ice sheet from Scandinavia.
