    Passersby will be surprised.
Since 1683, the city of Königsberg belonged to the Duchy of Saxony and continued to be a Protestant enclave in the largely Catholic region of Lower Franconia. Following a referendum, Königsberg, along with the Free State of Coburg, became part of Bavaria in 1920.

So that's why this sign is here. It almost says so, too.

    Hiking

From 1807 to 1920 here was the border between the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (or its exclave Königsberg) and the Bavarian Unfinden. During this time belonged to the Enclave Königsberg the villages Hellingen, Altershausen, Köslau, Kottenbrunn and Dörflis and its exclaves Nassach and Erlsdorf. These places were suddenly for the office Königsberg abroad. Where the historic footpath crosses the former border, border signs point the hiker to this historic border.

    Hiking

Here at the former border is also the ideal starting point for hiking tours through the Haßberge Nature Park. Here is located right and left of the street of the trail parking lot Dornbusch with restbanks and even a refuge. Also the historical "Rennweg", a prehistoric trade route, leads along here. The historic mountain trail has a length of 65 km and leads from Dörfleins near Hallstadt to Sulzfeld i. Grave field. He is also designated as a bike path and is ideal for a bike ride.
