It is part of the former CS Ranch founded by Jay Starkey in 1937 for cattle ranching, which is now split between the preserve and this neighborhood in homage to his heritage. There are multiple parks, hiking, and bike trails, and an original plaque from 1965 as a tribute to those who helped Starkey with the operation property.
