The current church was preceded by two churches: the first was consecrated in 1505, the second built after the village fire on July 16, 1878. An earthquake in 1946 made it impossible to use it because of the risk of collapse. On June 18, 1950, the residents of Lenk were able to inaugurate their new church, designed by Karl Müller-Wipf (1909-2010). The stained glass windows were created by local artist Gottfried Tritten (1923-2015).
