The Anhäuser linden tree has experienced a lot in its lifetime. It is around 400 to 500 years old and once had a trunk circumference of 850 cm. This makes the winter linden the strongest in the Heidenheim district. In 1976 it survived lightning damage and in 2002 two fires. As a result, the linden tree now only has a half-sided crown. Even a storm in 2006 could not harm it.
A real veteran tree.
