Lake Howard is one of the main lakes in the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes, spanning over 600 acres. Halfway around the lake is a pleasant trail offering scenic views. The lake was named by John Westcott in 1849 in honor of his neighbors, the Howard family, from Madison County, Florida.
