Hiking

The Eifel loop "Through the forest" is located near Satzvey (town of Mechernich). As the name suggests, it mainly goes through the forest with a view of the Stockert and the Astropeiler radio telescope on top of it. The highlight, however, is certainly the Katzensteine rocks, which are up to 15 meters high. The Romans used the reddish shimmering sandstone formations as a quarry for surrounding temples.
The Eifel loop can be easily combined with the Eifel loop "Burg Satzvey".
