Hunon and his wife Huna (Ste-Hune) would have lived in the 12th century. This Saint was very humble and charitable, she went down to the fountain to wash the linen of the sick. Legend has it that one year when the winegrowers of Hunawihr had not managed to harvest a harvest due to the weather, Sainte-Hune performed a miracle by making the wine flow from the fountain which still bears its name today. . We have few verified elements of the life of this Saint.

According to legend, wine instead of water flowed from the well here in the 12th century when the grape harvest could not be brought in. Saint Hune accomplished this, which is why the well and the washhouse still bear her name today.
