This stretch of Highway 395 near Mono Lake has exceptional views of the Eastern Sierra. The Aspens are especially gorgeous during the fall, so if you can ride by before the snow falls you will be well rewarded. Lee Vining is the closest town, and it has all the amenities and supplies you'll need.
