Sawmill Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northstar mountainside. It is popular with fisherman, but apart from that, it is normally a quiet and peaceful spot. It is a great place for a quick break.

Sawmill Lake is a fly-fisherman's dream. It's tucked away in Northstar’s mountainside and is a private, secluded 10-acre reservoir stocked with hundreds of rainbow trout. But fishermen must have a reservation and obey strict rules: catch and release only, no dogs, no swimming, and respect the thru-hikers.
