This 3rd lake along the Cottonwood Lakes Trail is a popular spot for fishing and a good place to catch your breath. At 11,000 feet, and almost 6 miles into the trail, this could be a great turnaround point for a day hike. Otherwise, continue on for a bit of a climb towards Cottonwood Lakes #4 and #5.
