The construction of the church lasted from 1776 to 1779, and the architect was Father Sebastian Alojzy Sierakowski, a Jesuit. The church was initially erected on May 20, 1779 as a branch of the collegiate church in Łask, and then on June 23, 1780 by the Archbishop of Gniezno, Antoni Kazimierz Ostrowski, as an independent parish church, subordinate to the Łask deanery.
