Hiking

The square is named after the Schouwburg, the most important theater in Rotterdam. The square has an idiosyncratic architecture, the ground is about 30 cm higher than the surroundings. It was designed in the 90's. Four 35 m high light giraffes, which are intended to remind of cranes in the port, are eye-catchers. The floor covering made of wood, rubber and iron is also reminiscent of ship planks.

Theaterplatz is a square in the heart of the city of Rotterdam and is flanked by the city theater, concert hall, restaurants and cafes. The 12,250 square meter square is an urban stage and interactive open space and was designed by West 8, the landscape architecture firm founded by Adriaan Geuze
