    Riverbend Ponds Natural Area is a beautiful wetland area with many small ponds along the Poudre River. Accessible via car or bike trail, this area is offers a lot of biological diversity that thrives along the banks of seven former gravel mine ponds, which are stocked by the Colorado Division of Wildlife with largemouth bass, crappie, and channel catfish for people to fish. There are also over 200 species of birds that feed, rest, nest, and migrate through for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts alike to enjoy. There are flat, beautiful trails and boardwalks throughout the Riverbend Ponds Natural Area.
