Bastia Soprana is a ruined castle, built in the second half of the 13th century by Branca Doria, on the hill east of the historic center of Sassello, in the province of Savona. Today, a few ruins remain, including a circular tower, surrounded by the greenery of the Apennines. It can be reached from Sassello with a walk of about half an hour, offering spectacular views along the way, with difficulty only in the last steep but short stretch.
