This park is accessed either via a paved trail just north of Sand Lake Elementary, or through the school grounds which are closed to the public during school hours. So, during school hours you have to use the paved trail access.
There is a little dock here; people come to fish, swim, or launch kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. If you do swim, watch out for leeches in the lake's sandy bottom.
