Looks quite appropriate given the current water levels. But they are too narrow for flood events on the Gera like in 2013. The bridges in Gebesee over the Gera and Mahlgera are to be rebuilt. The site is suitable for observing river dynamics in a renatured floodplain. To improve the habitat for animals and plants, the Free State of Thuringia has bought areas for the river. Now the river can overflow its banks again for a few meters according to its natural dynamics. This bridge is too small for a strong flood of the Gera. Therefore, it should be rebuilt, get only one support and offer a wider opening for the outflow of a flood of the century.
