The palace in Białowieża was built in 1894 on the order of Tsar Alexander III.
Burnt down in 1944, demolished in 1961 - only the palace gate has survived.
During archaeological excavations, the remains of a manor from the second half of the 16th century were discovered, which can be associated with hunting in the forest of kings Zygmunt August and Stefan Batory.
Another royal court was mentioned in Białowieża in 1639 during the reign of the kings of the Vasa dynasty.
