This section of the Eurovelo 8, also called the Mediterranean cycle route, temporarily leaves the Aurelia to travel along the ancient Via Julia Augusta, a Roman road dating back to the 1st century BC. There are some steps to go under the railway and the passage is a bit narrow, but it feels like taking a step back in time between the train tracks and the Tyrrhenian coast.
