Hiking

It was Prince Maurits who, in 1621, commissioned land surveyor Jacob Lips to map out the area and its layout. It was bordered by the current Stouwdreef, Oude Postbaan, Overaseweg and Goordreef. Lips produced a card measuring 2 by 1 metre. His successor, Jan Pietersz. Dou, reduced the map in 1625 to more manageable dimensions.
