Hiking
Excellent short loop trail that explores the young lava flow, with good info panels. The trail is cairned but very uneven. Good shoes recommended

Cycling
Well cairned easy but uneven 1-mile loop trail through the rugged most recent (2000 years young) lava. Early morning is best to see the colorful diversity of wildflowers that already colonized the recently hot surface and contrasts with the black lava rocks.
