The Red Spring Boardwalk is a short, flat loop (0.5 miles) through an alkali (seasonally flooded) meadow to Red Spring. Red Spring is a year-round water source that allows for a unique ecosystem of diverse animal and plant life to thrive in the desert. The spring itself, however, is hard to see underneath the dense vegetation. There are many informational signs about the ecosystem, geology, and history of Red Spring along the boardwalk. The boardwalk is somewhat shaded by large ash trees and there are benches provided periodically for you to rest and enjoy the landscape.
