High Bridge carries Lincoln High Street across the River Witham and is the oldest bridge in the UK which still has buildings on it.
The bridge was built about 1160 AD the row of timber framed shops on the west side of the bridge date from about 1550.

This loop is easily accessible, starting from the historic High Bridge, also known as the Glory Hole, in central Lincoln. The path quickly transitions from city bustle to countryside serenity, making it a delightful half-hour stroll to the Pyewipe Inn, a popular canalside pub. While much of the trail is flat and well-maintained, the overall distance contributes to its moderate difficulty rating, so be prepared for a good walk.
