Good selection of cafes and take away food shops in a scenic town. Down side is that the town is surrounded by steep hills so any bike ride will require hard work to leave the town.
The Riverside cafe (at first floor level near the river) is popular with cyclists.

Village where last of the summer wine was filmed. Plenty of cafes and pubs. You will have to climb big hills to get out of it though!

Holmfirth is the home of the long running TV series Last of the Summer Wine which ran from 1973 all the way to 2010.

It's easy to see why it was chosen by location scouts as it is a picturesque town right in the Holme Valley with gorgeous country views all around.

There are plenty of cafes, tearooms, pubs and restaurants in Holmfirth and it makes a great base for exploring the northern tip of the Peak District National Park.
