Yosa had 63 inhabitants registered in the year 1900. The last two inhabitants left the town in 1970. The town lacked a water supply and electricity and, together with its complicated access (it never had a road), these were the most important causes for its abandonment. They didn't have a doctor either, when it was necessary they had to go look for one in Broto. The priest was carried on the back of a male every Sunday to Yosa, to say mass.
