Hiking
The oldest church was dedicated to St. Olav, the national saint of Norway, and was a smaller stone church. The church is mentioned in the saga of King Sverre and must have been built around 1150.
The church has been rebuilt several times. After the fire in 1640, the church received "a precious large organ". An extensive restoration took place in the 1880s. Afterwards, the church's Rococo furnishings were discarded and the church subsequently received predominantly its present decoration.
