The historic smuggling route in Zwillbrocker Venn (also known as Schmugglerpfad) runs directly along the German-Dutch border near Vreden in Westmünsterland and connects the region with the Dutch Achterhoek. Today, the former path for illegal goods traffic is a popular, peaceful hiking and cycling trail amidst a unique nature reserve.
