Hiking
The area was not a municipality until 1888 and was incorporated into Dätgen, Loop and Schönbek in the same year. The Höllenau and the Olendieksau rivers, which flow into the Brahmsee, have their source in the Schönbek Moor. The moor thus lies on the watershed between the Stör and Wehrau river systems, which now flow into the Kiel Canal and used to flow into the Eider.
