The Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge in the city and spans the banks of the Garonne. Nearby was the Roman port from where goods were transported to Bordeaux ("Burdiglia") and the Mediterranean and to Rome. In the evening, it is beautifully illuminated by a multitude of spotlights. A walk along the river at this time of day is therefore not to be missed.
