The current square, also called Coso de la Alameda, is the work of the architect Antonio María Sánchez and stands on the old square inaugurated on August 15, 1847, which disappeared in the middle of the 20th century.

The Jaén bullring was built in 1962 and has a capacity for 10,000 spectators. Good place to start any trip if you are in Jaén. Numerous free access parking areas and even a park to rest and have a picnic afterwards. There are cafes and bars nearby and a water fountain to fill your water bottle.
