The English Tower is the only remaining remnant of a castle belonging to the Barony of Randon and built under the patronage of Philippe de Randon.
The story goes that he discovered his castle completely destroyed upon returning from a crusade. Following this, he decided to rebuild a new one, overlooking the entire region, so as not to be taken by surprise again.
