The Kalmarsund VIII is a ferry that went into operation in 1963 and operated between Kalmar and Färjestaden from 1963 - 1972. With the new Öland Bridge, the ferry became obsolete and was sold to Croatia, where it served as a ferry for another 25 years. Since 2002 it has been here in the old harbor as a museum ferry and event location.
