Hiking
South of Ivenack you will find this Mecklenburg lake, which is around 1200 meters long and 600 meters wide. On its northern shore is the zoo with the Ivenack oaks. Ivenack Castle with its English landscape garden is also located right on the lake.
The lake shore is completely wooded, so you can always find a shady, cool spot here in midsummer. There is an official bathing area on the edge of the landscape garden.

The Ivenacker See itself is rather unspectacular (shallow and weedy), but the combination with the thousand-year-old oaks, the castle, and the park makes it a worthwhile destination for nature lovers and culture enthusiasts.
