Posted in Salento Fortifications collection komoot.it/collection/1396951/-salento-fortificazioni - On 9 April 1568 it was decided that the master Virgilio Pugliese would build the tower with the projects of Giovanni Tommaso Scala. Construction began on 1 May 1568 and was completed in April 1570, it was then demolished and rebuilt in 1622 [Source Wikipedia].
